Britische Geschichte

Nach dem Buch über's Wiederlesen und Erinnern habe ich mich nun für Britische Geschichte und den sagenumwobenen König Arthur entschieden. Ich habe diese Woche über Excalibur City an der tschechischen Grenze gelesen und ein paar Fotos gesehen. Das hat mich daran erinnert, das König Arthur ja auch noch auf mich wartet.

Über's Wiederlesen und Erinnern

Gestern Abend habe ich die Fosse-Biographie ausgelesen - sie hat mir gut gefallen, war aber nicht so mitreißend wie die von Martin Gottfried und sie hat auch keine neuen Erkenntnisse gebracht. Trotzdem hat sie mir sehr gefallen.

 

In der letzten Amazon-Lieferung waren ja einige Bücher über mein Lieblingshobby dabei: das Lesen! Heute Morgen in der U-Bahn habe ich gleich eines davon begonnen - nur leider habe ich zu viele neue Bücher, um alte noch einmal zu lesen. Aber wer weiß, vielleicht gelingt es mir ja irgendwann, ein Buch ein zweites Mal zu lesen.

Diese Woche habe ich jede Menge Post von Amazon bekommen. Robert hat mir ein Päckchen von der Post geholt - eigentlich sollten die Bücher erst im Mai geliefert werden. Dann kam am Donnerstag ein Buch in Postkasterl und ich hab heute die letzte Bestellung vor dem Urlaub abgeholt, auch von der Post natürlich.

Gone Girl is Gone...

und zwar in den hintersten Winkel meines Kriminal-Bücherregals. Ich verstehe nicht, was an dem Buch spannend, mitreißend, brillant und atemberaubend sein soll. Abwechselnd Nick und Amy in der Ich-Form erzählt, war es einfach nur eine 500-Seiten-Starke Schlaftablette. Beiden haben nur rumgejammert und nach etwa 125 Seiten habe ich noch schnell den Schluss gelesen, um zu wissen, ob sie zurückkommt oder doch vom Ehemann ermordet wurde. Für solchen Schund ist mir meine Zeit zu kostbar. Aber nachdem es ein hochgelobter Bestseller war, liegt das vermutlich an mir.

 

Jedenfalls habe ich gestern Abend dann mit einer weiteren Biographie über Bob Fosse begonnen, und habe da gleich 90 Seiten geschafft. Fosse ist ein spannendes, brillantes, atemberaubendes und mitreißendes Buch - wie es eben auch die Karriere von Bob Fosse war. Mir hat ja aber auch die andere Biographie über Bob Fosse sehr gefallen, und auch Sam Wasson's Buch über Frühstück bei Tiffany und Audrey Hepburn.

Gone Girl

war im letzten Sommer ein Bestseller und knapp vor Weihnachten habe ich ihn mir dann gekauft - und wieder einmal stelle ich fest, das solche "Bestseller" nichts für mich sind. Gut, ich habe erst knapp 25 Seiten gelesen, und vielleicht wird der Roman ja noch spannender. Im Moment ist die Geschichte eher eine Schlaftablette und ich kann mir nicht wirklich vorstellen, das es irgendwann spannend wird. Aber mal sehen, bis Seite 100 lese ich auf jeden Fall.

Nach dem Buch für mein erstes Leseprojekt habe ich anschließend gleich mit dem Buch für mein Asien-Projekt begonnen, und die Reise führt mich nach Burma/Myanmar.

SUB-Abbau im Februar

Vom Blitz getroffen wurde die Protagonistin meiner derzeitigen Lektüre. Es ist bereits ein älteres Buch von Charlaine Harris, deren Sookie Stackhouse-Reihe ich ja sehr mochte. Leider fehlt der Geschichte Harper Connelly, die vom Blitz getroffen wurde und seitdem mit Toten kommunizieren kann, der Humor der True Blood-Bücher.  Das Buch liest sich zwar flüssig, aber die ganze Serie muß ich mir nicht kaufen. Einfache Lektüre halt. Gekauft habe ich es übrigens am 17. September 2011.
